Restorative Yoga for Balancing the Immune System
Saturday, July 26; 11-1pm
Imbalances in the immune system can manifest in many forms. People with overactive or suppressed immune systems may experience acute or chronic conditions, or more general effects that may not be associated with a specific named condition. The effects may be expressed as general fatigue, pain, or increased frequency of illnesses such as colds or flu. Restorative yoga is a gentle, soothing, deeply restful practice. Props are used to meet and support the body in poses that are held for a few minutes up to15 minutes or more. Gentle breathing practices are incorporated to cultivate stillness in the mind and ease in the body. The practice of restorative yoga helps calm the nervous system, and helps establish or renew internal balance of mind, body, and spirit. It is a very healing practice accessible to all levels of experience, including beginners. Regular practice of restorative yoga may help the body respond to the effects of many conditions. In this workshop, we’ll focus our intention on supporting and balancing the immune system. Jeffifer Shoemaker instructs. She is a certified Advanced Relax and Renew® trainer (restorative yoga) with Judith Lasater Cost: $25
