Yoga Nidra: The Meditative Heart of Yoga Practice
Friday, August 29, 6-7:30pm
Our minds require consistent training to help us free ourselves of the habits that cause tension in our lives, just as our bodies do. Yoga Nidra literally means "sleep of the yogis". It is a physical and mental relaxation technique which penetrates into much deeper levels of consciousness. Adherents claim that half an hour of Yoga Nidra can replace up to three hours of normal sleep! We'll begin with some gentle asana and pranayama to prepare the body for the deeper experience of Yoga Nidra. No experience necessary. $15 suggested donation.

Warriors of the Rainbow
An Evening of Spiritual Music and Meditation
with Dada Nabhaniilananda
Friday, September 26; 7-9:15pm
Dada Nabhaniilananda plays melodic folk rock in the style of Simon & Garfunkel or Cat Stevens which he calls “spiritual eco-folk”. He sings about spiritual experiences and ecological or human rights issues, and derives many of his ideas from myths and legends of different cultures.
Dadas’ performance is a multi-media experience. He illustrates his songs with related images, creating a dream-like atmosphere as he seamlessly combines music, visuals, storytelling, humor, chanting, and meditation, in an experience that touches the heart. Please join us for a memorable and uplifting evening of song and sangha.
A donation of $15 is suggested. Students, senior citizens and the unemployed, $10. Advance registration is encouraged and appreciated. Read more about Dada at www.eternalwave.com
Restorative Yoga: Into the Stillness
Saturday, September 27; 11-1pm
In the pace of our demanding daily lives, we often neglect time for stillness. When we are in chronic over-drive, our bodies, minds and hearts suffer. Restorative yoga is a deeply restful practice. Props are used to support the body in poses that are sustained for longer periods of time so that the body can drop deeply into stillness, and the mind and spirit can rest and rejuvenate. Gentle breathing practices are incorporated to cultivate ease in the body. The practice of restorative yoga helps calm the nervous system, and helps establish or renew internal balance of mind, body, and spirit. It is a very healing practice accessible to all levels of experience from the novice to the seasoned practioner. Cyndi Bulka instructs. Cost: $20
Exploring the Feminine Energy of the Pelvis:
A Workshop for Women of All Ages
Saturday, October 11, 11-1:30pm
The pelvis is an important 'container' of the body; physically, emotionally and energetically. Many women at varying stages of life experience dis-ease in the pelvis---lower back and hip joint pain, digestive problems, fertility, menstrual and menopausal issues. Together we'll explore the anatomy and structural balance of the pelvis, hips and sacral area by way of inner movement and awareness exercises as well as traditional asana. By gaining an increased awareness of our pelvis and belly, we begin to gain insight in to the tensions we hold in this vital part of the body, and can reconnect to the powerful essential energy of the belly. No experience necessary.
