New
Classes this Year!!
Yoga
for Healing:
Women, Food and Self
Image
For
so many women, our
relationship with food
is conflicted.
While food can
temporarily relieve
stress, anxiety or
sadness, enhance joy or
provide comfort, it can
also be a source of
avoiding difficult
emotions and thus
prevent us from deeply
understanding ourselves.
Yoga teaches us how to
have a strong mind, body
and spiritual
connection.
Strengthening this
relationship allows us
to listen to our hearts
and bodies better.
Through the exploration
of Yoga asana, pranayama,
mindfulness, meditation
and svadhyaya (self
inquiry), we will
discover the roots of
emotional eating
patterns, and works
towards a freer and more
loving connection to
ourselves.
The
program runs in 8 week
blocks. Students
will attend the Monday
5:45 Yoga class, and
then meet again
immediately following at
7:15 for the discussion,
self inquiry and group
exercises. A light
snack and tea will be
served in between the
two segments.
Cyndi Bulka instructs.
Space is limited and pre
registration is required.
Yoga
Foundations for Beginners

designed to help students

be repeated as desired to
deepen students' foundation
and understanding of the

will include instruction on
the principles of movement
and alignment in support of
various types of yoga poses.
The course will also
include basic breathing,
relaxation and meditation
techniques. Students
are encouraged to attend
class weekly as the course
is designed to build on the
previous week's theme. Since
the course is ongoing, you
can join at any time.

and Mantra
Friday,
January 21 from

Song,
chant, and mantra
are wonderful and
easily accessible
options to shift our
inner landscape of
thoughts and
feelings. Whether to

open to all, regardless
of singing
background.

easy songs and
chants from various
traditions that open
the heart and allow
the joy of blended
voices and community
to emerge. Ride the
wave of joyous music

sing out and at
other times, sink
into mellow chant
and tranquil
centering. Expect to

Yoga Nidra:
The Meditative Heart
of Yoga
Thursday,
January 28, 6-7pm
Our
minds require
consistent training to
help us free ourselves
of the habits that
cause tension in our
lives, just as our
bodies do. Yoga Nidra
literally means
"sleep of the
yogis". It is a
physical and mental
relaxation technique
which penetrates into
much deeper levels of
consciousness.
Adherents claim that
half an hour of Yoga
Nidra can replace up
to three hours of
normal sleep! No
registration
necessary; no
experience necessary.
Cyndi
Bulka instructs.
Love Offerings
appreciated.

Managing
Mood with Yoga:
Yoga
to Help with Anxiety
and Sleep Disturbances
Saturday,
January 29, 11-1:30pm
It
is physiologically
impossible to be
anxious and relaxed
simultaneously, but
oftentimes it can be
confusing when it
comes to choosing
which practices to do
when you are feeling
restless and anxious.
In the second part of
this series, we'll
discuss some possible
reasons why we
experience anxiety,
and look at how it can
affect our sleep and
daily life. There are
certain practices
which can be quite
effective in
ameliorating our
anxiety and help us to
restore balance to our
sleep patterns. Practice
will include active
and restorative asana
and pranayama.
No experience
necessary.
Cyndi
Bulka instructs.
$25 Pre
registration is recommended.

Reflections
from Cyndi
I
wrote this prayer a few
years ago, and it
resonates with me as a
great New Year's wish.
It is my wish for each of
you....
Trust
that you are exactly where
you are meant to be...
Despite
the wonder of the unknown.
At
whatever crossroad you
find yourself standing,
and whichever path you
follow, there are rich
opportunities to grow in
Love.
Remember the infinite
possibilities life offers
us if we have the courage
to live with an open,
kind, compassionate heart.
Use your many gifts of
mind and heart, body and
soul to unearth truth so
that you can live with
peace.
Be
absolutely content knowing
you are loved.
Be
willing to walk into fear.
In opening the door of
fear, we can find our way
to Love.
Remember
that change and loss and
struggle give us strength
of character when we are
willing to face them with
love and compassion,
towards ourselves and
others.
Trust
your heart. Trust it
implicitly. It is the seat
of wisdom and the gateway
to higher consciousness.
Let
that presence settle into
your bones, and allow your
soul the freedom to sing,
to dance, to celebrate.
Namaste
and Many Blessings for the
New Year!!
